Diwana/Drummond Street

Across the Euston road, about 10 minutes walk from the hostel, is Drummond Street where you’ll find a bunch of Indian restaurants and sweet shops. Our money’s on Diwana, which claims to be the UK’s oldest South Indian vegetarian restaurant. Unlike much Indian food, which is often heavy and rich, they serve paper-thin pancake dosas with a light potato filling. It’s cheap (about £7 for a main) and you can bring your own beer.
