Despite December being the least popular month for bands to gig – because Christmas – there are a few bands that might prick your ears up if you’re in the Italian capital during the festive period. Firstly, keeping it local, Italian psych-rock two-piece Dumbo Gets Mad are playing at Monk on the 11 December. Cranking it up yet another notch, Today is the Day, a noise rock band from the Mecca of country music, Nashville, Tennessee, will be playing at Traffic Club, Rome on the 13 December. Shifting gear drastically, discover the quietly haunting music of Sweden’s Small Feet, recently signed to Barsuk records, at Unplugged in Motti on the 15 December. Finally, treat your ears to the disjointed post-punk of Kill Your Boyfriend at 30 Formiche on the 4 December. They all wear dark sunglasses, so you know it’ll be fun.
