GENERATOR X BOILER ROOM | BARCELONA

In our fourth event, (marking the halfway point of our Generator x Boiler Room series) Generator x Boiler Room brought the party to sunny Barcelona. This one was a slight Hivern Discs love-in, as John Talabot’s well established Barcelona label brought three of the four artists to Generator, which resulted in a mash of mind-blowing, dance-inducing tunes. Good times.

Kick-starting the lively evening was an original Nitsa Club resident. For 13 years Marc Piñol played at this legendary underground club (which housed some distinguished artists), and has now brought his signature sound to Generator.

In his set, Marc surprised the crowd by dropping some sweet unreleased Talaboman (Swedish-born DJ Axel Boman and native Spaniard John Talabot's massively popular collaborative project), and serving up tunes that warmed up the crowd and got the evening bubbling with anticipation…

Next up, JMII played a storming live set on live drum pads and drum-machines. Blending acid-tinged techno and classic house, the Barcelona native producer and DJ’s energetic set had the room jumping to his tracks.

Sau Poler (real name Pau Soler. Clever.) is an exciting new addition to the Barcelona circuit.  The Spanish-born talent dropped some solid tracks. A mixture of techno-house and soulful bass – this guy is on the rise…

Pionalfamously came onto the scene as John Talabot's collaborative vocalist on his break-out album Fin. A firm member of Talabot's label Hivern Discs, (also making appearances on labels Permanent Vacation and super cool Young Turks), Pional opened with 'Digital Arpeggios' by Percussion's (aka Four Tet. Who knew.)

Ending the night on a huge high, the crowd (including a few Generator staff members) were raising the roof to Pional’s energetic end-of-the-night stompers, leaving us craving more. We wished it would have gone on for much longer but alas, the Generator x Boiler Room Barcelona set came to an end (sob). But never mind, because Berlin Mitte, we’re coming to get you
