DISCOVER 13 DIFFERENT CATE BLANCHETT’S IN BERLIN

default

Cate Blanchett recently donned a hard hat for Berlin artist Julian Rosefeldt.

In the teaser for Rosefeldt’s new workManifesto, it boldly claims that “all current art is fake” before the word “revolution” appears on screen. And then: “But after the revolution, who’s going to pick up the garbage?”

It’s a good question – as ambiguous as it is intriguing. Manifesto is a 13-channel work, basically multiple projections in the same room, in which the role of the artist in society is questioned. If you’re still confused, let me be clear: you’ll see 13 Cate Blanchett’s, each in a different role – from a homeless man to a schoolteacher. You’re essentially seeing 13 different Cate Blanchett movies. That’s pretty good value. Right?

Catch Rosefeldt’s Manifesto

Julian Rosefeldt’s Manifesto runs from 10 February to 10 July 2016 at Hamburger Bahnhof.
