THESE ARE THE GIGS TO SEE IN AMSTERDAM THIS DECEMBER

What better way to kick off the festive season than with Anthrax?

There’s more to Amsterdam than twee bikes and quaint cobbled streets. Every night the city plays host to some (mostly) great music events. This December, for example, you could see Queen Kwong – the Stooges-inspired LA band whose frontwoman was discovered at age 17 by Trent Reznor and whose sound has been described as primitive rock ‘n’ roll – at Winston Kingdom on 1 December. Montreal-based art-rockers Braids will also be in town on 3 December, playing the intimate OT301. Or you could catch singer-songwriter Sean Rowe play his unique brand of alt-folk at Paradiso Noord, Tolhuistuin, on 1 December. If those acts are a little too squeaky-clean for your tastes, you could always catch metal legends Anthrax slay their guitars and bang their heads, on 2 December at Melkweg The Max.
