Generator Miami is due to open in late 2017.  The selected candidate for Revenue Manager will have the opportunity to be based in Europe for up to six months prior to the opening, working on revenue management projects across the Generator estate; while also receiving training and learning the systems and processes of Generator.

  • Report strategically to the Director of Revenue Management (London based) and day-to-day to the General Manager for Generator Miami
  • Produce the annual beds budget to daily segmentation level; and participate in setting the complete annual budget and targets for your hostel
  • Determine the segmentation strategies required to achieve the budget targets
  • Develop and pursue a total revenue strategy for the hostel in conjunction with the General Manager
  • Work in commercial partnership with the General Manager and wider hostel teams to meet and exceed monthly and annual revenue targets for beds, bars and restaurants, and ancillary sales
  • Work closely with your sales colleagues to develop sales strategies to deliver the budget targets
  • Chair the daily revenue update and weekly revenue meeting for your hostel
  • Lead the weekly revenue meeting and monthly commercial review meeting
  • Manipulate price, inventory and sales restrictions in the pursuit of hostel targets
  • Complete the weekly market segment forecast for your hostel with accompanying performance commentary
  • Manage local relationships with distribution partners and actively participate in group wide communications with agents and partners
  • Build long term, commercially beneficial relationships within your markets
  • Be commercially savvy in exploring new revenue streams
  • Monitor and analyse competitor activity and local and international market trends; suggesting and implementing strategic and tactical activity as required
  • Ensure that the hostel teams remain up to date with all local, national and international market trends
  • Take the initiative to adapt strategy and tactics in response to the changing competitive environment
  • Monitor group reservations and enquiry handling with particular focus on group conversion levels for the delivery of the sales mix target
  • Manage and yield all channels of distribution to maximise the return on the cost of sale
  • Oversee the management of allocations and freesale for the hostel, applying closures and restrictions as required
  • Manage the overbooking strategy for the hostel to maximise occupancy performance
  • In collaboration with the General Manager, determine and activate promotional activity as necessary to deliver the optimum business mix
  • Champion the development, adoption and maintenance of company standard operating procedures and best practise in the pursuit of revenue and customer experience targets
  • Coach, mentor and develop the skill set of the local sales and reservations teams alongside the General Manager
  • Identify and share new methods, tools and learning experiences for the benefit of colleagues across the business
  • Understand local legislation and commercial regulations and monitor compliance where appropriate to your work
  • Effectively and skilfully position Generator as a market leader in the local and international environment
