About You
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - YOU WILL THRIVE BY
  • Report to the General Manager
  • Take ownership of the maintenance related responsibilities for the building to ensure that we create a truly unique Generator experience
  • Ensure that our social spaces embody the Generator brand and culture
  • Have a comprehensive knowledge of, and ensure compliance with all statutory local legislation and regulation, in particular, H&S, building regulations and Fire Safety
  • Maintain all safety and asset register records at all times
  • Negotiate and monitor service level agreements with local contractors and suppliers
  • Take responsibility for all equipment onsite ensuring that it is maintained and ready for use at all times
  • Communicate effectively and appropriately in all directions so that the team understands its goals and is motivated to achieve them
  • Maintain and preserve the internal and external structure of the building
  • Ensure and identify where possible problems that may affect the guest experience and rectify in good time
  • Supervise the day to day operation in Maintenance e.g daily maintenance tasks and work orders
  • Assist the GM/FC in the formulation and delivery of the budgeted maintenance costs and CAPEX
  • Prepares and documents budget requests; administers adopted budget in department
  • Makes systematic checks on all guest room electrical appliances, circuits, televisions, refrigerators, and light fixtures: Must be able to repair most in-room deficiencies to ensure items are in working order
  • Respond to staff and guests request for immediate repairs
  • Be familiar with all major shut off stations including water, electric, sprinkler, fire alarm
  • Report requests for major repairs to GM
  • Utilizes basic hand and power tools required for general maintenance
  • Completes Preventative Maintenance program checklist and maintenance records
  • Assist General Manager in determining capital requests, and managing contracts for capital projects
  • Perform duties in accordance with Safety and Security Policies
  • Perform duties in accordance with OSHA and Blood Borne Pathogens regulations
  • The employee may be expected to work in other areas of the property when needed to assist operations to perform job duties not necessarily contained in this job description
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned

JOB SPECIFICATIONS - YOU HAVE A ROCK STAR EXPERIENCE
 
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent years of relevant work experience required
  • Minimum  3 years in maintenance/grounds previous experience in a the hospitality industry
  • Must have working knowledge of general repair, plumbing, painting, HVAC or electrician
  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal essential
  • Ability to work in a multi-tasking, fast paced environment
  • Friendly demeanor and good guest service and communication skills
  • Previous knowledge of MS Office
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving and prioritization abilities
  • Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
  • Have Technical knowledge of electrical, plumbing and decoration
  • Outgoing personality, reliable, team worker, and good customer skills
  • Able to work independently and with others
 
WORKING CONDICTIONS
 
  • May be indoor or outdoor setting
  • Varied weather conditions are expected
  • Will work near moving or mechanical parts
  • May work on high or precarious places
  • Varying schedule to include mornings, afternoons, evenings, holidays, weekends and extended hours as business dictates
 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Physical mobility and stamina required
  • Majority of work shift requires standing or walking 90% of the work day
  • Frequent ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps. Climbing of stairs is required approximately 50% of the time
  • Frequently lifts, carries, pulls and/or pushes a maximum of 50 lbs
  • Able to lift and carry up to 40+ lbs. is common and up to 140 lbs. with assistance
  • Many tasks require twisting of the torso
  • Pushing and pulling actions are required in excess of 60-70% of the time
  • Crouching and kneeling are required for approximately 25% of the time, particularly when cleaning bathrooms and under furniture
  • Crawling is required approximately 10% of the time
