Key responsibilities of an Accountant:
The Accountant will have many responsibilities and these include the following:
  • Posting of journals, managing accruals and preparing Balance sheet reconciliations, including cash book and bank reconciliations
  • Review of monthly management accounts, ensuring financial reporting is delivered on time and at the highest quality standards.
  • Dealing with yearly audits and prepare financial statements.
  • Preparing intercompany recharges and reconciling intercompany current accounts.
  • Drafting intercompany loan agreements, repayment notices and utilisation requests. Maintaining the loan schedule summary
  • Preparing payroll and HR reporting
  • Handling Accounts Payable and travel expenses claims
  • Assisting  with periodic forecast and annual budget process
  • Running monthly departmental reports and providing analysis for Corporate Functions (Finance, HR, Marketing, etc.)
  • Assisting with the year end and monthly reporting Group process
  • Supervise purchasing procedures, particularly relating to correct documentation and authorisation of expenditure.
  • Credit checks & preparation of group debtor  report.
  • Other admin work.
  • Prepare accurate weekly and monthly cash flow forecasts for operation and assets.
  • Prepare and supervise banking operations.

To be successful in the role, you need:
  • At least 2 year of experience in a similar position within the hospitality industry
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Organisational and prioritisation skills in order to meet strict reporting deadlines
  • Strong team player with an enthusiasm to learn
  • Robust problem solving ability
  • Good communication skills with the ability to communicate well with staff of all levels
  • Hands-on attitude, with attention to detail
