About You:

Duties and Responsibilities:
Customer Service:
  • The ultimate goal during each shift is to endeavour to ensure that the needs of the customers have been met and exceeded at each interaction
  • At every opportunity, create a positive impression on the customer thus ensuring that they will remember their experience at Generator
  • To respond quickly and efficiently to all customer requests and enquiries, ensuring that you maintain a “can do” attitude at all times
  • At all opportunities, upsell and  cross sell to guests
  • Be fully briefed, engaged and committed to delivering a true Generator experience at all times
General Duties:
  • Ensure the bar is always clean, tidy and ready for business
  • Ensure the bar is always fully-stocked i.e. glasses, ice, garnishes, cocktail mixtures and is ready to trade in
  • Ensure that there is enough produce and goods available to the customer at all times
  • During busy periods of trade, ensure the bar is maintained to a clean Generator standard, ensuring all tables, floors and equipment are clean at all times
  • Monitor the quality of service and the quality of the drinks and cocktails and ensure standards are high, taking action where required including speaking with the Bar Supervisor or F&B Manager
  • When communicating with a guest, ensure a warm welcome and show interest in them
Policies & Procedures:
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies you have been trained on, which include Fire Training and Health & Safety and Food Hygiene
  • When working with food, it is important to ensure that food hygiene guidelines have been adhered to.
  • When you are responsible for stock, ensure that the FIFO rule is followed
  • To report any accidents or incidents to the Manager on Duty and/or Operations Manager
Cash Handling:
  • Responsible for the float and all cash transactions.  If an error has been made, ensure that this is communicated to the team leader or manager on duty at the end of your shift
  • To ensure that the procedure for cash reconciliation is carried out correctly and the float always balances in accordance with the cash handling procedures
  • Ensure attendance at meetings when required
  • Communicate with the Team Leaders or Managers should any issues arise within the department
  • Have a flexible attitude towards working hours and eagerly perform all duties applicable to Generator
  • Ensure that all necessary checklists, forms and spread sheets have been completed and delivered on time
Knowledge and Experience:
  • Appropriate experience gained in all main tasks within the hospitality/tourism industry
  • Capable in use of hospitality systems
  • Demonstrate strong team and communication skills
  • Knowledge of contemporary interests and the city
  • Ability to build effective working relationships at all levels with diverse groups of colleagues in a way that appears natural and effortless
  • Have a genuine interest and enthusiasm for service
  • Knowledge of social media channels to market the hostel
