EVENTS COORDINATOR (PT)

YOU MUST
  • Have experience in generating new business and building upon existing relationships with local brands and promoters
  • Be culturally aware. Know – and be able to spot -  upcoming trends within the local bars and nightlife scene
  • Have an intrinsic knowledge of the youth culture and their likes/dislikes within  your city
  • Have a strong network of contacts within the city –the local movers and shakers in the fashion, art, design and lifestyle industries will already be in your address book!
  • Be able to programme an interesting and engaging calendar of events that appeal to local and travellers alike
  • Be commercially-driven, sales focussed and creative-minded
  • Understand the importance of revenue in relation to events and partnerships
  • Have a background/good grasp of social media management (in relation to event promotion) and know how to use several social channels – especially the ones most relevant to your city
  • Have knowledge of CMS systems
  • Be outgoing, organised and friendly by nature
  • Be a creative problem solver
  • Demonstrate calmness under pressure
  • Show commerciality with a strong passion for driving revenue
  • Be creative, innovative and digitally smart
  • Have good English/native language written skills
  • You must be eligible to work in the EU to be considered for this role

YOU WILL:
  • Be responsible for leading and developing a regular programme of creative, revenue-driving events and initiatives within the hostel and the Oosterbar.
  • You will be responsible for the vision of the Oosterbar and make sure to program within this vision
  • Be imaginative and creative – pop-ups, creative brand collaborations, innovative ideas – it’s all welcome
  • Manage the coordination of budget for hostel events and Oosterbar
  • Finding new and innovative ways to monetise our social spaces on a continuous basis
  • Drive the local partnership plan – identifying opportunities to work with on-brand companies through creative campaigns and
  •  
  • Take ownership of the events and initiatives to ensure that we create a truly unique Generator experience
  • Cultivate relationships with local influencers and build upon your existing database of useful contacts
  • Have extensive knowledge of the local underground youth culture and ‘happenings’ within the city
  • Ensure the atmosphere of the property–lighting, sound, music, visuals and general ambience
  • Create a promotion plan for all events and safeguard a clear direction within the current brand standards
  • Be responsible for managing and setting up AV for events in the hostel and Oosterbar
  • Be present during your events and have a clear handover to operations
  • You will be available for Manager on Duty shifts
  • Communicate effectively and appropriately in all directions so that the wider team understands the importance of events and is motivated to work towards their success
  • Have at least two year’s experience with an events background
  • Report to the General Manager
  • Possess the ability to secure sponsorship for events
  • The role requires a fast learner with strong organizational skills, deadline driven and ability to manage projects
