The Great River Race
Looking across the glinting sunlit waters of the River Thames you can see a multitude of bobbing boats. Each with its compliment of keen racers some deadly serious, some just in it for fun and to raise some money for charity. The Great River Race has been described as the equivalent of the London Marathon on the River. With more than 300 vessels competing over a 21 mile course, through the heart of the London, for 35 different trophies the atmosphere will be festive along the banks. Look out for the best fancy dress costumes as the rowers make their watery way up river to finish at Ham House and a rousing cheer.
