Peter Pan Cup Swimming Race at Hyde Park
Although you are still a bit affronted at the early hour on Christmas morning the swimmers seem raring to go and their enthusiasm lifts your own spirits. This annual tradition has been carried out by hardy members of the Serpentine Swimming Club for more than 100 years and the Peter Pan Cup is named for J.M. Barrie’s most famous creation.
So open the presents later and get some fresh air on Christmas Day morning to see these, some would say mad, adventurers brave the icy waters of the Serpentine Lake in Hyde Park.
