The Luna Cinema
One of the great things about summer in London is the amount of brilliant stuff you can do out of doors and the Luna Cinema is no exception. If you are a fan of film and prefer the open air then check out some of the great films on offer.
There are a whole bunch of venues in and around London with a variety of films from classics like Casablanca and Raiders of the Lost Ark to up-to-date blockbusters like Gravity and Captain Philips.
Each venue has a few films spaced over the course of a few days or weeks so there is bound to be something close by to tickle your fancy.
Some of the most picturesque locations include Regents Park which will show the James Bond film Goldfinger on the 17th August and the classic Breakfast at Tiffany’s on the 1st September, and Battersea Park which has American Hustle on 9th September, Gothic horror Labyrinth on the 10th September and Django Unchained on the 11th September.
Tickets can be bought online from the website and you can expect to pay between £13 and £20 depending on the film and location. If you are feeling flush and have a few extra quid to spare get yourself a Premium ticket. This will get you a director’s chair to sit in to watch the film plus a complimentary drink at Luna Bar and a benefit Goody Bag.
The closest location to Generator London is the one at One New Change which is showing The Big Lebrowski on 3rd August, The Wolf of Wall Street on 14th September and excitingly a film to be decided by public vote on the 31st August – a bit of film roulette if you will. It is not far from St Paul’s Cathedral and you can catch the Tube at Russell Square. Take the Piccadilly line for one stop to Holborn then change to the Central line for St Paul’s.
