The 57th BFI London Film Festival
What you can expect from the 57th BFI London Film Festival? Brand new films premièring for the first time, yes. Top A-list names treading the red carpet, certainly. Knowing that the film you are about to watch may well change your life, definitely.
This year the opening film is an intense, re-telling of the 2009 hijacking of the US ship Maersk Alabama by Somali pirates called “Captain Phillips” and Tom Hanks is playing the lead role. Last year’s Best Film winner was the French-Belgian film Rust and Bone (De rouille et d’os) so be prepared for edge of your seat drama, laugh out loud comedy and thought provoking documentary films this year.
