Day of Unity Germany
Although they probably don’t talk about it very much and it is nearly a generation away now the reunification of Germany in 1990 was a very emotional moment for many in the country. Berliners saw families that had been torn apart put back together and a country divided was healed.
The whole weekend will be packed with shows, live music, water sports plus, of course, a giant street party complete with beer tents and food stalls. You will be in good company for this most worthy of celebrations. While you are likely to find much of the city closed up for the celebrations if you are looking for the party then the best place to head would be HafenCity or the Speicherstadt. So raise a glass to the German Day of Unity.
