Ahoy, St. Pauli At Night
No trip to Hamburg would be complete without at least a stroll around the infamous St Pauli district. But if you have a little more time then why not sign up for the full tour and get all the dirty little secrets of the area.
The tour is at night so you will see the contrast between the bright neon lights and the dark corners where shady goings on could be taking place! The tour guides are characters in themselves and they know all the ins and outs and all the juicy details of some of the most popular places in St Pauli.
Wander along the Reeperabhn and Herbert Street – two of St Pauli’s most iconic streets – and find out exactly what the likes of The Beatles got up to, where and with whom.
Visit one of the legendary pubs – Zur Ritze – which has a bawdy image over the entrance to entice you in and you can grab a refreshing beer. Nearby is the original location of The Star Club where The Beatles launched their international career. Other great bands that have played there include Cream, Billy J. Kramer and The Jimi Hendrix Experience.
Head to the home of the fabulous drag star at the Olivia Jones Bar. Once the tour is over you are already in the right spot for a great night out at a Hamburg club. At Reeperbahn 25 is Neidklub which is a good place to go if you are just looking for a dance floor and some top tracks.
Getting to St Pauli from Generator Hamburg is pretty easy. You can catch the U3 from the Hauptbahnhof Sud, which is just around the corner from the hostel and it only takes about 15 minutes.
