Temple Bar Night Market
If you’re looking for a change from the usual night out, head down to the Temple Bar Night Market. Held every Thursday from 5th June until 28th August, the market trails through the streets of Temple Bar, showcasing the work of artists and craft makers to the sound of a buzzing atmosphere and lively music.
As you wander around you’ll be treated to an array of street entertainment. From painting to dance to workshops, Dublin’s Cultural Quarter has so much to offer between the hours of 6pm and 10pm on 7th August and between 5pm and 9pm on the 14th, 21st and 28th. It’s a great location to watch the evening descend on Dublin and feel the bright, hot summer days turn into vibrant, twinkling nights.
Stalls will be selling a wide range of items including handmade clothing, accessories and jewellery, hand-painted ornaments and glassware, wooden crafts, art, vintage collectibles, and soaps. The market is a brilliant chance to pick up something completely unique that you won’t find anywhere else, either as a reminder of your trip to Dublin or as a gift for someone back home. There will also be stalls where you can grab a bite, whether you’re hungry for oysters or fancy something sweet like delicious creamy butter fudge.
If you’re looking for somewhere to sit down and eat in between shopping and watching street entertainment, try Farrington’s of Temple Bar. This Victorian pub is situated right in the heart of Temple Bar so you can still soak up the atmosphere, and they serve hearty traditional Irish food until 8:30pm to the soundtrack of live Irish music.
Generator Dublin is quite close to Temple Bar. You can walk there in less than twenty minutes, or take the 69, 79 or 79A bus from Arran Quay to Central Bank and get there in just over ten minutes.
