Discover Ireland Dublin Horse Show
The Irish love horse racing and the Discover Ireland Dublin Horse Show is one of the highlights of the horsey calendar. If you fancy a flutter or are just interested in a lovely day out then head to the RDS this August.
There will be races on the four racetracks every couple of hours from 9am in the morning until around 7pm in the evening so you will have plenty of choice and time to back a winner plus show jumping and dressage events.
One of the highlights is the Jack & Jill Horseshow Ball on Friday 8th August. This is a ticketed charity event so you can look forward to an evening of dinner, dancing and entertainment and all for a good cause.
The Band Lawn is the place to be for great live music, with dancers and other performers all ready to entertain you in between races or if you are taking a break from the track. You can keep up to date with the latest results and what races are up next on their Facebook page.
If you are feeling peckish between races then head for one of the plethora of show ground eateries. For a help yourself snack there are self-service places like the Seafood and Wine Bar at the Band Lawn. Or if you are in the mood for a proper, knife and fork, sit down meal try the Seafood and Champagne Bar between Gate D and Gate E. If you just need a bite to keep you going then there are also several food courts and snack bars.

RDS (Royal Dublin Society) is on Merrion Road and you can get there on the bus. There a quite a few that head down Merrion Road and it should take about 40 minutes.
