You are enjoying a cool pint of the black stuff in a traditional Irish pub in Dublin. The walls are panelled in dark wood and decorated with pictures of famous Irish sons and daughters from writers and artists to sports men and women. Then suddenly, without warning the whole bar rises up and with one voice exclaims “To Arthur”. You heartily drink and turn to the barman for an explanation. At 17.59pm on the 26th September the Irish celebrate the founder of Guinness and inventor of the famous black gold. It’s not just about the drink, there will be live music and festivities across the city to complete the celebration – get a pint in and be part of something.
