30 Seconds To Mars at O2 World, Berlin
Adventures In Wonderland is the perfect name for the new, 30 Seconds To Mars tour. And if you are a fan in Berlin then don’t miss the gig at O2 world this January.
If you’ve been to a Mars gig before you’ll know roughly what to expect, and if you haven’t been before you’ll wish you had. Either way, you won’t want the night to end. Prepare for much singing along, the odd crowd surfer, and Jared Leto demanding a mosh pit – if that’s not your scene avoid standing right at the front or opt for seating. Wherever you position yourself, there will more than likely be a time when some confetti-filled balloons descend from the ceiling, so you can have fun bopping the huge balloons when they come your way, and catching the little bits of paper raining down from above.
The band is touring off the back of their latest album “Love Lust Faith + Dreams”, which was released in May 2013. The new album takes a decidedly different turn, leaning a little further away from the heavy rock sound of their first couple of albums and entering a world of synthesizers and electronics. But fear not, as the energy and excitement is still there, and there’s nothing like a Mars gig for that incredible adrenaline rush a live concert can provide.
In terms of the set list, expect a good mix of acoustic material, old favourites and newer songs like Up In The Air. Throw in at least one encore (maybe two), Jared cracking jokes between songs, a lot of sweat, shouting and laughs, and you’ve got yourself a Mars gig. Fans won’t be disappointed.
O2 World has a capacity of up to 17,000 and it has hosted many concerts, sports and entertainment events since it opened in 2008. It’s conveniently situated between the Ostbahnhof and Warschauer Brücke, just a short train journey from both Generator Berlin Mitte and Generator Berlin Prenzlauer Berg.
