Barcelona has one of the most amazing music festivals of the year in PrimaVera Sound. The main venue is Parc del Forum which is right on the beach and gives glorious views across the sea. Plus it is really easy to get to as the tram stops right outside.
The producers are so cool they have even made a short film to introduce the line up this year.
Some huge names like Canadian rockers Arcade Fire, leaders in grunge Pixies and industrial rock gods Nine Inch Nails will be on stage and are not to be missed. But there will also be a load of lesser known acts we think you may like.
The new single “Muizenberg“ is a lovely chill-out tune with threads of African and reggae running through it to give it a more international feel. The self titled album was picked out by UK press as one to listen to, so try them out.
Some brand new local talent. Hailing from the Basque country Belako claims wide ranging influences from The Cure, Sonic Youth and M83 and the latest single “Eurie” is spot on with their post-punk sound.
This Brazilian singer/songwriter is rubbing shoulders with the indie rock royalty after he formed the duo Little Joy with Fabrizio Moretti (The Strokes). But now he is striking out on his own and doing very well.

A psychedelic/acid blues band that are from right here in Barcelona and are very popular locally. Quite a fun band to see; the members all sport spectacular beards, weird enough to make ZZ top jealous.
