Hang on to your hats because Pharrell Williams is coming to Palau Sant Jordi for a gig you won’t want to miss. The singer-songwriter’s debut tour Dear Girl is taking him across Europe during autumn 2014, and with a back catalogue like his you’re sure to have an unforgettable night.
This tour is in support of Pharrell’s second studio album, Girl, so expect some of the songs from the album to make an appearance, such as the second and third singles Marilyn Monroe and Come Get It Bae.
Listen out for other hits from Pharrell’s debut album In My Mind from 2006, which includes singles Can I Have It Like That, Angel, and Number One. And of course it just wouldn’t be right if he didn’t belt out a rendition of Happy, the super-catchy soundtrack from Despicable Me 2.
Before you head inside the venue for a night of fun and upbeat music, you might want to grab a quick bite. Try La Font Del Gat restaurant near La Font Del Gat by the Av de l’Estadi-Pg. Olimpic bus stop. This restaurant serves traditional Spanish food in an idyllic setting.
Palau Sant Jordi is an indoor sporting arena with a capacity of 24,000. It’s close to Montjuïc Castle as well as several museums including Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya and Joan Miró Foundation, so you may want to spend the whole day in this area.
The easiest way to get to Palau Sant Jordi from Generator Barcelona is to take the number 55 bus from Pg. de Sant Joan-Pl. Mossèn Jacint Verdaguer to Av de l’Estadi – Pg. Olimpic, which takes just under an hour. However, on the way back you’ll want to take the L3 metro from Poble Sec to Diagonal, as this runs until 11:30pm every day.
