Prime Venice padI can be found just off St Marks Square on the Island Giudecca. If you were to push me, I’d say there’s no better way to arrive here than on water taxi, after all, when in Venice and all that. But there are a few other options in this watery city; here are a few examples below.
By Train
At the Santa Lucia train station, you’ll find the Vaporetto stop right outside. Take the number 2 or 4.1 to Zitelle and the Venice hostel is 100 meters on your right.
By Plane
OK! Welcome to the world of the true backpacker! So Pay attention or you may end up swimming here.
The bus terminal is right in front of you are out of the airport. Look for the ATVO bus service (click on the link for the timetable) to Venice Piazzale Roma. The service is pretty fast, only 20 minutes. The tickets are only €6 one way and can either be bought on board of the budget airlines or at the bus stop.
Once you arrive at Piazzale Roma, walk straight to the to the public boat stop called “Imbarcadero” (You’ve just learnt your first Venetian word).
Catch vaporetto #2 or #4.1 #N (night service) to Giudecca Island & get-off at Zitelle. I always suggest to buy a ticket that is valid for all your stay so that you can travel almost anywhere in the laguna and visit Lido di Venezia, Murano and the beautiful Burano.
… and here’s a little extra tip. Tickets can be bought at veniceconnected.com or simply drop us an e-mail for more info.
By boat
The only way to travel into Venice. From Marco Polo Airport follow the sign that says “the little harbor” (250 mt outside the terminal turn on your left) where you can find the public boat “Alilaguna” (check the timetable on www.alilaguna.it) which arrives after 1h40min to Giudecca Island.
Our stop is called Zitelle. Generator Venice is 100m on your right. The cost for this service is only €15 but is fantastic on a sunny day as you will enjoy a fantastic tour of the Venetian Laguna.
