Just minutes away from major stations Generator London puts you in a prime spot for exploring the city. To make your trip as smooth as possible here are some tips, directions and a walking guide to download.
From the airport
London has 5 main airports and here is how you can make your journey to Generator from each one:
Stansted Airport – Take the Stansted Express to Liverpool Street. From there take the Central line tube to Holborn and then change for the Piccadilly line to Russel Square. It’s a short walk to the hostel from there. A single fare is £21.50 and the journey takes about 47 min.
Heathrow Airport – This is easy. Take the Piccadilly Line directly to Kings Cross. The single fair to Kings Cross is £5.50 and the journey time is approx. 1hour. From Kings Cross station you will be at the hostel in no time.
Luton Airport – First Capital Connect trains run 24hours to Kings Cross. The journey is about 1hour and costs £13 for a single fare. Once you arrived in Kings Cross, the hostel is a stone’s throw away.
Gatwick Airport – Take the Southern Railway or Gatwick Express to Victoria train station. From there you take the Victoria Line to Kings Cross and then you can walk the rest of the way.
London City Airport – The closest of all London Airports. Take the DLR (Docklands Light Rail) to Bank, there you change in the Northern Line and exit at Kings Cross. The overall journey time is approx. 50mins, and the cost for a single DLR ticket is £4.00.
From major train stations
King’s Cross St. Pancreas – If you arrive at King’s Cross St. Pancreas you can just walk up on Euston Road. Take Judd street on the left and we are 100 meters along on the right hand side, Tavistock place.
Euston – Euston station is only a 12 minute walk from our London hostel. Too much luggage? You can also hop on bus 168 and exit at Tavistock Square.
If you arrive at other major train stations, catch a train to either Kings Cross or Russell Square. When you exit at Russel Square walk across the road onto Marchmont Street, go past the Marquis Cornwallis and Costa coffee, then turn right onto Tavistock place at the traffic lights and we’re on the left at number 37.
