I’m right in the centre of the biggest of big European cities. Central London is a large place at the best of times, especially when you don’t know where you’re going. You’ll catch me in Bloomsbury to be exact and the best way to get to me is by bus or tube. ‘Nuff said.
Getting to Generator London hostel is easy – we’re just a short distance from three tube stops and two major rail stations. Our London hostel is under 10 minutes’ walk from the major stations, giving you great access to London and the rest of the UK.
From Russell Square tube walk across the road onto Marchmont Street, go past the Marquis Cornwallis and Costa coffee, then turn right onto Tavistock place at the traffic lights and we’re on the left at number 37.
Or from King’s Cross St. Pancreas walk up on Euston Road, take Judd street on the left and we are 100 meters along on the right hand side, Tavistock Place.
London has 5 main airports and here is how you can make your journey to the Generator:
Stansted Airport – take the Stansted Express to Liverpool Street (singe fare: £21.50/ journey time: 47 min).
Heathrow Airport – cheapest option is the Piccadilly Line directly to Kings Cross. The single fair to Kings Cross is £5.50 and the journey time is approx. 1hour. From Kings Cross you can walk to the hostel.
Luton Airport – First Capital Connect trains run 24hours to Kings Cross. Journey is about 1hour and cost £13 for a single fare. Once you arrived in Kings Cross, the hostel is a stone throw away.
Gatwick Airport – Take the Gatwick Express to Victoria Train Station from there you take the Victoria Line to Kings Cross, then you can walk the rest.
London City Airport – the closest of all London Airports. Take the DLR (Docklands Light Rail) to Bank, there you change in the Northern Line to Kings Cross. Overall journey time is approx. 50mins, and the costs for a single DLR ticket is £4.00.
Driving in London can be somewhat of an adventure. There is a public car park around the corner. Car park charges start from £8.00 for 6-24 hours, just keep also in mind that you have to pay a congestion charge, if you are driving in London.
