Eat, drink, party | Instagrime’s top London spots
One of the things we love most about London is it’s diversity, there something going on almost every single day- you can’t possibly go to everything though… can you? So we’ve asked Instagrime to tell us some of their top spots in the capital. So if you’re in London this weekend, here’s your head start!
The City of London is a vibrant and cosmopolitan place and there are so many venues, club nights and late night food destinations that it is hard to find the hidden gems. In this article I am going look at two club nights you really should party at whilst in town, the two venues you should visit and the two late night food venues that are must hit in London today.
Based in Old Street, XOYO is a two-room Shoreditch nightclub that showcases the best in global DJ talent along with the best up-and-coming artists. The likes of Friendly Fires, Mark Ronson, Felix Da Housecat and Simian Mobile Disco have all played at XOYO. Many an epic night has been spent here.
2) Village Underground
Village Underground is a hard-to-miss venue situated beneath a bridge in the heart of Old Street. It is one of the largest venues in Shoreditch with a capacity of around 1000 guests. It’s been known to host great techno, electronic and hip-hop nights. With its high ceilings and great acoustics we highly recommend this venue.
1) Livin Proof
Livin’ Proof has been at the forefront of London night life since 2007. They have successfully championed hip hop at its purest. They were the first to bring over A$AP Rocky, Danny Brown, and Dom Kennedy for their first respective UK shows and have put on parties with the likes of Hudson Mohawke, Flatbush Zombies, Just Blaze and Action Bronson. This is a must hit night if you are hip hop lover.
2) Cirque De Soul
Cirque De Soul travel up and down the country and once a month invade the most quirky of hideouts in a selected city. They always provide a wicked night filled with good vibes and bohemian madness. There past acts have included Groove Armada, Jackmaster, Roy Davis Jr and Hannah Wants. If you are up for meeting like-minded party goers then this is definite one to reach.
Late Night Food Destinations
1) Duck and Waffle
Duck and Waffle is situated on the 40th floor of Heron Tower in Central London. They place emphasis on local, rustic and seasonal dishes that are designed for sampling and sharing. They are known to keep a pace with a city that is constantly on the move. They welcome guests until late with their late night menu.
2) Burger and Lobster
Set up by the guys behind Goodman’s steakhouses, the concept is a simple one. The menu simply features lobster, lobster roll or burger. They are open until late and normally have a bar that you can treat yourself to a cocktail or two. We highly recommend, the only problem once you are there is deciding between the roll or the burger.
We hope this list guides you smoothly through an awesome night in the British capital. And remember when it all gets too much and sleep is calling, you know where to lay your head!
