Cult Classic, Movie Screenings
When: All Mondays throughout the summer
Where: 8pm Generator Dublin Entertainment Centre in basement.
Kick back, relax those aching bones , put your feet up and take a break in our fully equipped entertainment centre. Spend your Monday nights with us watching some of the greatest cult classic films we all know and love. With different weekly fan favourites, make sure to check out what we have on offer by following our facebook and twitter. From 80’s teen angst, to sci fi thrillers we have it all. Grab the popcorn and curl up in our comfy screening room . You Deserve it.
Tuesday Lets Talk: Language Exchange Program
When: Running All Tuesdays throughout the summer starting June 18th.
Where: 7pm Generator Hostel Bar
Generator Hostels is proud to present “LET’S TALK”, a new concept of language exchange where you can teach your own language and learn the language you want from native speakers. We all know the best thing about travelling is meeting new people and learning about exciting new cultures, so we have provided a platform in a relaxed and friendly environment to get just a little bit more out of your Ireland trip than you anticipated! Come join us for a pint of our finest Irish craft beers or a cup of our famous Barry’s Tea and learn something new. You may be leaving us with a little more than the Irish phrase Póg mo thóin!
Tuesday Evening ‘Set It Off’
When: Running All Tuesdays throughout the summer
Where: 8pm Generator Hostel Bar
Get ready for the delectable tunes provided by Dublin’s purveyors of everything funk and soul, DJ’s Tom Beary and Baz Hickey. ‘Set it Off’ playing the greatest in Funk, Soul, Hip-hop, Latin, Reggae…Black music in all its forms. Grab a pint and pull up a stool in our bar to enjoy the perfect laidback grooves to set off your night.
Wednesday: Trad Rocks
When and Where: 8pm Every Wednesday in our own Generator Bar
Come and experience the absolute quintessence of Irishness with this phenomenal traditional Irish ceili band ‘TRAD ROCKS’ . These lads and lassies have enough energy to blow a hole through the roof and with the synonymous ‘Alan Mac’, the custodian of contemporary Irish culture as your host for the evening, expect a night full to the brim with craic agus ceoil. So get your Irish dancing shoes on and get ready for an Irish experience unlike no other.
Thursday: Stereo City: Supersonic Electropical Weekly
When & Where: 9pm- late every Thursday night Generator Bar
Thursday becomes the new Friday in Generator with the global adventures in hi-fidelity for the Barrio Norte. With Dublin’s finest spin doctor Lex Woo playing all of the right tunes to start the weekend that day early. Check out some of the deals we have in the bar, with 2 Jameson and Ginger for €10 or 3 shots of baby Guinness for €10. Bar bites are also available from the café from 8pm.
Friday: Cead Mile Failte: Unplugged Irish traditional music session.
When and Where: Wednesday evenings 6pm
A hundred thousand welcomes to our fair isle. If you’re starting your trip today our preparing for a weekend of madness you may as well start the proper way, with a nice dose of Irish culture and music. No better way to be greeted than this exhilarating live ceili band full of Irish gusto and energy.
Friday: Well Known late night DJs
When and Where: Generator bar 7pm till late.
At the generator hostel we endeavour to bring you the best in Irish music and dj’s that Dublin has to offer. Every Friday we have the Dj collective ‘ Well Known’ who are currently trail blazing through the Dublin scene as the young new talent. They are well known for playing awe inspiring vinyl sets of Hip-Hop, Beats, House, Soul and Funk. There is no better place to spend your night than dancing the night away with us.
Saturday: Arman Giorgio’s Stich Up Saturday 8pm till late
Get the Glad rags on, its Saturday night fever in Dublin City. Local fasionista and all round ledgebox DJ “Arman Giorgio” with the tailor made collection of eclectic tunes sewn together, turned up, and buttoned down. A night of unexpected mashes, and mixes to get everyone in the mood party with us and we promise you won’t be able to keep off the floor.
Sunday: Live Like a Local with Experience Gaelic Games
Ever wonder what those crazy Irish lads actually get up to? ‘Live Like a Local’ is a truly authentic day of living like a local with a day of breakfast rolls, cups of tea, roast dinners and an introduction to our national sports Hurling and Football. We’ll show you how it’s done and see do you have the stamina to keep up with us. Expect a day (and more than likely night) of craic and crazy antics.
