Underground Walking Tour – Culture in Berlin
Dates: English language tours are from Thursday to Monday.
The history behind the Berlin skyline may be iconic and well known, but there is a whole other unseen world to be explored underground. The Underground Walking Tour is a walking tour that begins in the Gesundbrunnen U-bahn station and takes you through little seen air raid shelters and bunkers used in the 2nd World War and even the dominating flak tower perched on a nearby hill.
Tours take place at 11am and 1pm every day apart from Tuesday and Wednesday and cost 10 Euros per person. They begin from just outside the Gesundbrunnen U and S Bahn station which is easily accessible on the S41/42 ring train or by the U8 U-bahn line. It is located on Brunnenstraße 105 and the tour runs for approximately 90 minutes.
Check out our Berlin East city guides for more information.
A short walk away from the Gesundbrunnen is the Offside Pub and Whisky Bar on Jülicher Straße 4. The Offside Pub has a varied and substantial collection of whiskeys and a very open and friendly atmosphere. It’s a great place to unwind and have a natter about the sights you have just seen.
