Generador Indie - Go Mag Djs + Pin & Pon Djs + Wiggum (Acoustic Set)

When: 31st May 2013

Time: 22.00

Guest dj: Go Mag djs

Go Mag is one of Spain’s most widely read specialised publications. The same broadness perspective which has made the magazine an oasis of music journalism will feature at Generator Barcelona with Manu González, Staff Editor of the magazine, taking control of the decks. As always, anything can happen!

Resident djs: Pin&Pon djs

Rafa and Joan have in recent times been considered one of the top rated DJ combos by the public (in recent years chosen as the Best National DJ by the readers of the prestigious music magazine Rockdelux). Almost all of the most representative spanish indie-circuit clubs have warmly accepted their eclectic and fun sessions where everything has its place (from pop, rock, techno, electronic, soul …) caring above all for the quality in the selection and not forgetting the technique, with help from the latest technology tools. They have participated in festivals such as the Festival Internacional de Benicàssim, Sonorama, South Pop Sevilla and Isla Cristina, SOS 4.8 in Murcia, etc … Their maximum is good taste and good technique, trying to mix up from the beginning to the end what seems difficult to combine. Pin&Pon DJs explore in each of their sessions their extensive knowledge of the latest music, without forgetting to also give free rein to the classics, those hits that have been with us for years and have become indispensable on the crazy nights in Spain.

Wiggum (acoustic set)

Wiggum are Julio Salvador (Vocals, Guitar), Halldór Már (Vocals, Guitar and Icelandic), Marc Miralles (bass) and Dani Barrera (Drums). Wiggum started in late 2009 when Julio Salvador and Halldór Már decided to embark on a new musical project with the goal of achieving their dream of someday living on their music. Wiggum recorded their first LP called “Sintón Nisón ama a Nifú Nifá“ in Barcelona’s studio Micromaltese (Linn Youki, Odio París, Las Ruinas) in February 2010 and was well received by independent music critics, which gradually began to take notice of the young band.
During that year were playing in different venues in Barcelona until they signed in 2011 with the music label El Genio Equivocado. A deed that helped them expand their music in different parts of the Spanish territory throughout festivals like FIB, Monkey Week, Vertigo Estival.
In 2012 they again locked themselves in the rehearsal room to give shape to new songs for a second CD. Leaving aside the love songs and the sixties, they dive into a sea of distortion and double-voiced melodies to recover the more aggressive personality of the band and finally acknowledging their influences from the 90s like the early Oasis, Nirvana , Smashing Pumpkins, … and elemental punk (Sex Pistols and Ramones). The result is an album of nine songs called “La Guerra Mundial” which will be published on April 20th, 2013.
