Venice Doors Open – 15th June

I am Generator and I cordially invite you to Venice, the jewel in my crown, the apple of my eye, the city on the sea. The grand makeover is done, I have been preened, buffed and polished and now I am ready to open my ever-so, grand doors to you on 15th June 2013.

I’ll show you what a real Venetian renaissance can be, I am the only hostel in Venice, and I am unique in every way. Every inch of me has been sensitively yet artistically evolved to maintain my heritage but also to push me into the new century. I am reborn with one sole purpose, to be your, perfect address during your visit to the city of canals.

Let me paint the picture for you… Navigate your way by the public boat, Alilaguna, for an arrival like no other. I’ll escort you up the grandeur of my sweeping staircase to your dorm or private twin room. We can steal a light bite of Italian fare in my magical restaurant. Then I sweep you off for a tour of my city. And who could possibly be a better guide to this ancient city than a 19th Century resident. To Doge’s Palace at San Marco Square we head, the most instantly recognised square in Venice if not the world, as we walk I tell the tales of Casanova and point out his jail, and climb the Bell Tower to look over my home and the lagoon. As we work our way to the Rialto Bridge and if we time it right, pick up a cherry red apple at the Rialto Farmer’s market. We step onto a Vaporetto down the Grand Canal at sunset and I regal stories of past as you see the sights and the exquisite architecture before we buy a hand-made mask at Atelier Marega .

I will let you take in the Bascillica di San Marco and other churches and museums another day, I may however urge you, to work your way to The Peggy Guggenheim Museum for the modern take on an ancient spectacle of a city. You have your bearings now and I have divulged my secrets lets retire to my stylish bar for cocktails and chit chat of what you have seen and seek tomorrow Maybe a dip in the LIdo or an Italian feast, the city is yours and I am here for you every to rest your head in my comfortable and stylish surroundings.
