Our Highlights of 2014
Ok maybe we’re slightly late with this one since the New Year has indeed come and gone; but who says you can’t enjoy a little nostalgia post-Jan. Let us look back and reminisce over days gone by, from the refurb of our London hostel and the launch of This is Out Here to our stint at Blogstock 2014 and the launch of #REGENERATE14. Ladies and Gents, behold Generator’s highlights of 2014.
Early last year we closed down the London property and gave it a long overdue facelift as part of a new wave of Generators. 20th March saw us relaunch the property and of course we celebrated the Generator way, with NTS Radio overseeing the music, FAT filling our bellies and Frank’s Campari quenching our thirst with amazing Gin cocktails. It was definitely a night to remember, read all about it.
This is Out Here
The relaunch of our London property also saw us launch This is Out Here. The guys have since been to Berlin, Copenhagen, Barcelona, Hamburg and of course their own city: London. From visiting derelict buildings in Berlin to scaling Mount Tibidabo… they went, they explored and they shared their adventures with us. Have a gander at their issues; is it possible to have a favourite? We think not.
2014 also saw the transformation of our terrace at Generator Copenhagen. Ever fancied a game of boules? Well if you come to Copenhagen then you’re in luck because our terrace now houses a Petanqué bar complete with 4 lanes. But it’s not even half as good as the tapas menu on offer! Read all about the launch night when we partnered with Vice as they launched their issue and Fever Tree as they supplied G&T’s on tap!
Summer of Festivals
We showed up and showed out at all the festivals last year from Wireless in London to MELT! in Berlin. We gave all of you the chance to join the fun with your own Generator experience while you partied…. though some of you opted for the post-festival detox stay, you know who you are!
#Regenerate14 has to be one of the biggest events in Generator history, so big we had to spread it across two cities: Berlin and Copenhagen. We teamed up with the guys over at Lab magazine to put on two huge events celebrating the concept of social sustainability where we invited a whole host of artists including the likes of Maser, Obscura, David Ogle, Beka hoop and more to come and share their crafts in our spaces. One of our favourite moments from last year! Watch The Lab Magazine’s short documentaries on how the whole thing came together. You never know, it might be back this year…
As part of all the festival hopping we did last year, if you went to Blogstock last year then you would have seen our awesome Generator funfair. Blogstock is all about celebrating bloggers (who we love) but we had to bring the party with our bouncy castle, popcorn machine and our ice cream trike! Read all about the mayhem.
We brought our signature live stream event back last year and boy did we miss it! If you don’t know, GenLive is all about showcasing talent from the local music scenes in each of our cities. The likes of Bourneland, Wolf + Lamb and Kant graced the Generator decks last year. You can read all about our Halloween edition at Generator Dublin when we partnered with Jägermeister.
We had a blast in 2014, but with everything we’ve got coming up this year including the launch of our Paris Property, Amsterdam and Rome… 2015 is set to be even crazier. Big changes are coming this year, keep your eyes on the ball.
