The Summer Has Begun, Time to Connect with the Festival Season!
June 27, a Thursday in Berlin.
The summer has started and in the first week, Berlin has seen amazing weather with temperatures reaching up to 34 degrees! Many people will agree that Berlin in summer is one of the best places to strike down if you share a passion for music, art, culture, shopping or events.
At Generator Berlin Prenzlauer Berg, the festival season begins. We decided to partner up with Greenville Festival; a 3 day festival that is taking place in late July which includes Bloodhound Gang, Wu Tang Clan, Nick Cave and the bad Seeds, Westbam and many great other acts in their line-up.
June 27, still Thursday in Berlin.
From 10.00am in the morning TAPE.TV is present on our rooftop in Prenzlauer Berg to set up for a full day of recording music video’s. Although there are some clouds in the sky, the sun is out and the skyline of Berlin is looking amazing – seeing the Fernsehturm pointing high in the sky. During the day 4 bands will play on Generator’s rooftop, first up is Elif, a great Berliner band – most known song is “Unter meiner Haut” (underneath my skin).
At midday the boys from Heisskalt start their session on our rooftop and rock away far above ground level with the Berlin skyline on the background. Next up is SAM, a rapduo (SAM & CHELO) with great tunes. The final band: ABBY, is also from Berlin and starts with their video recordings moments before the event moves downstairs to the beergarden.
Summer in Berlin also means that many open air events take place around the city, some underground, some not quite so underground. In any case, there are plenty of opportunities to celebrate in the open air. In collaboration with Greenville Festival we hosted the official Greenville Warm-up concert – outside in our beergarden at Generator Prenzlauer Berg.
Around 6pm, after a couple of big rain showers the soundcheck takes place and everything is ready for a good night of live music. The warm summer sun comes out whilst the crowd gathers in the beergarden for this free open air concert in collaboration with Greenville Festival. First up is SAM. Girls go wild as soon as the duo enters the stage and starts their set. The crowd loves this rapduo and is bouncing along the fine beats played by Chelo.
After SAM has finished and the technical set-up has changed it is time for Heisskalt. This band consisting out of 4 members is rocking the stage from the first moment they play. They play well with the crowd, and many of the fans sing along with their songs. A great opportunity for the Berliners and our guests to see these bands live. Once again Generator proves to offer way more than just accommodation!
